Christmas is over....

I was'nt very much into the Christmas spirit this year...oh well. How was everyone's Christmas? And just out of pure curiousity, I would love it if whoever is reading this would take my poll that is located at the bottom of my blog.
Anywho...I'm just gonna put some of my favorite quotes up here; some silly...some actually deep =P

"I will not be labeled as 'average' "
-Rachel Joy Scott

"The future belongs to those who believe in their dreams."
-Eleanor Roosevelt

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

-Marianne Williamson

"It is better to live dangerously, knowing that you are in God's will, rather than to live 'safely', knowing that you aren't in it."
- A random book =P

"Perfection is my worst enemy"
-Unknown

"If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, then the only logical explanation is that I was created for another world.
-C.S Lewis

"The last enemy to be conquered shall be Death"
-The Bible

Jesus
Others
Yourself
-Rachel Joy Scott

"Just because you've got the emotional range of a teaspoon, does'nt mean we all do!"
-Hermione Granger

"You are the most insensitive wart I have ever had the displeasure of meeting!"
-Hermione Granger

I'll think of more later...

The Christmas season really is a time for miracles...

I'm a firm believer in the power of prayer and miracles...but now even more so than ever before.

I am part of an online school, which is pretty cool. You can chat with all the other students, and one of my fellow students, Kenzie O. and I have become pretty close over these past few months. Tuesday morning, I was talking to her cousin, Sidney, who told me that Kenzie had been in a drunk driving accident, and was in a coma. At this point, I am freaking out. Like, seriously. Me and several other students who were good friends with Kenzie emailed our friends, families, teachers, etc. The response was incredible. If we attempted to count how many people were praying for that girl, we would've hit triple digits. I was amazed to see the Body of Christ bond together in prayer; we were all bound together as one.
Later that day, Kenzie started moving her fingers, but still hadn't woken up. The doctors didn't think she was going to make it.
The next day, I was chatting with Sidney for awhile, but Kenzie's condition hadn't changed. I went to go eat lunch, and ended up talking to my cousin Cassia. We had a nice talk and prayer time. She, like I was, was praying for Kenzie. So we had a little prayer time over the phone and hung up after awhile. After hanging up, I log on to my Facebook, and I see one of my friend's status' "Kenzie is awake!!" So, of course, I freak out, this time in a good way, and find out that Kenzie will be okay. She woke up, wanting to know if she had missed Christmas. Almost all of her ribs are broken, her spine and neck are messed up and her wrist is broken, but she has no memory loss or anything!
One thing stuck in my mind the whole time: God answers prayer. I knew that God would heal Kenzie, but what I didn't know is if He would heal her in the way I wanted Him to. But, He did! I was in shock when I heard that Kenzie was okay, but then I realized that I really shouldn't be. God is capable of doing anything; but we limit Him. Don't limit or under-estimate my Jesus!

JOY (?)

Joy: (n) 1a feeling of happiness 2source of happiness
Thats the definition of joy according to Webster's New Explorer Large Print Dictionary. According to Chinese myth, the image of joy 'Began with the image of a traditional drum, which represented the pleasure of listening to music. In ancient times, people celebrated a bountiful harvest with food and music to honor God and their ancestors.' Now the definition for Webster's Dictionary tells us what joy is--sort of. it says that joy is a source of happiness;but isn't joy and happiness the same thing? No, it isn't, but the distinction between the two is rarely made. Lets see what Webster's says about happiness:
Happy:(adj) 1fortunate 2content, pleased, or joyous.
I'll sum it up for you: When you are happy, nothing is wrong, but when something is wrong, or you are experiencing pain, you are not happy. On the other hand, with joy, you can have joy when you are happy,or when you are going through a trial in your life. The is to put your joy into something thats LASTS. But what lasts? We live in a fallen world, and every day we can see as things fall apart right before our eyes. People die; our friends, families, enemies...we'll all die sometime.A wise man once said: "We live to die, and we die to live eternally." We must put our joy in Christ Jesus alone, otherwise why even have joy?The Bible says, "Be joyful always." I read that one day and realized, " It doesn't just say, "Be joyful." it says, "Be joyful ALWAYS!" . Paul wrote this while he was in prison, and if he can have joy, we can too!!Please, please put your joy in Jesus. Pray, asking for joy, asking for joy forever. Remember that you do not need to be happy, or have a happy life to be joyful, after all, we are only going to be completely happy when we are in heaven.

My first blog entry!

Hey everyone, its Chelsea. This is my first time ever blogging, so bear with me. I'll start off by introducing myself.
*Ahem* Hello everyone! Well, I'm Chelsea, I'm a teenager, I'm homeschooled, and most importantly, I'm living (or trying to anyways...) for my Savior. He died for me; the least I can do is live for Him. My identity is in Him and Him alone.
Onto more random stuff...
I'm not your average homeschooler. I mean, yeah, I freak out over my GPA on a daily basis, but other than that...
So here are a number of things you didn't know, and didn't care to know about me:
1. I love to read. Like, thats all I do...
2. I love music. All kinds really, but mainly weird rock. Not average rock. Intelligent rock. Yes, I know that that is not an actual genre, but I'll define it for you anyways. Intelligent rock is written by people who are smart. Musicians whose music is so good, that the song lyrics could be read as a poem, and still impact people.
3. I enjoy poetry.
4. I hate math with a distinct passion...all kinds of math, but particularly algebra. *groans*
5. I don't really like modern movies. I prefer older movies that stars Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant...like Charade! A must-see movie!
6. I have the most amazing friends ever. End of story.
7. I love old-fashioned jewelry.
8. I wish I was artistically talented...but the truth is...I'm not.
9. I enjoy photography.
10. I am left-handed.

Thats all I can think of for now...I'll try and update this frequently!

Chelsea
